We’ve been so lucky with the weather so far… This morning was bright and fresh – perfect for the 7km trek further down the valley. The people have so little, yet seem so content with life. The photos below are of the H’Mong people again – great to see the way the kids are independent and community minded.

Back in Sapa for lunch, and our first real chance to explore the town. It’s clearly set up for tourist trekkers with shops in the main street alternating between Vietnamese/ European restaurants, foot masseurs and ‘North Face’ hiking gear shops. Literally, there’s nothing else!

There’s a market off the Main Street where the H’Mong and Vietnamese sell their wares, although never the twain shall meet. As you can see from the photos below, it’s not quite Coles or Woolies… I’ll never look at chicken, duck or dog quite the same again.

So that’s it for today. We’re all pretty tired, and some of us are a little sore, but we’re all really glad that we added this experience to the trip.

love M & the Bunchxx
