Our Vietnam adventure started with a 24 hour stopover in Singapore, arriving at 5:15 on a Monday morning. Initial impressions… Clean, modern, friendly and HUMID. It’s full of high rises, so reminds me a lot of Surfers Paradise.

With few options so early in the morning, we headed to the new Botanical gardens. These have only been open a year, and are filled with great structures to showcase flora, fauna and historical origins of Singapore.

Towering behind the gardens is the Marina Bay Sands resort. If you like the occasional show on ‘engineering feats’ (which the GradyBunch have been known to enjoy!) this is the building that consists of 3 towers, connected by a ‘boat’ looking structure across the top. Amazing building. Heading up to the top was a must, providing fabulous views of Singapore across the infinity pool . Despite being 57 stories up, the roof pool area is so big that it felt like we were on the ground. Thankfully only a couple of moments of vertigo for me, much to the amusement of the others 🙂

Part of the Marina Bay precinct includes a new Art & Science museum, currently housing a very cool Lego exhibition. A great way to spend a couple of hours and take lots and lots of photos.

We’re currently off to the Night Safari. It’s slightly drizzly, but hopefully the animals won’t mind ;). Finish later…

At the Night Zoo..
‘Slightly Drizzly’ turned torrential! Thankfully, many of the animals didn’t seem too concerned and continued to hang out under the spotlights. Well worth the trip out here, and would come back on a future trip.

So that’s Day 1. Many km, plenty of GFPs (Grady Family Photos – a GradyBunch essential) and activities packed in to our Singapore stop over. Doesn’t feel like we’re in SE Asia, but starting to feel like we’re on holiday!

Love, the Bunch xx

PS… If you’d prefer not to be on our distribution list, let me know!!!
